19 April 2012 - The SRA has introduced an assessment option for applicants who have an outstanding work experience requirement on their QLTR certificates of eligibility. Candidates can now complete the OSCE & TLST elements of the QLTS assessments as an alternative to satisfying the QLTR work experience requirement. Further details of these changes can be found at http://www.sra.org.uk/solicitors/qltt.page#qanda
With effect from 15th July 2011 the LSB has approved changes to the QLTS Regulations that will enable the SRA to grant an exemption from the Part 1 (MCT) assessment to applicants who have passed the LPC. If you have passed the LPC you should bring this to the attention of the SRA when you apply for your certificate of eligibility. When you get your certificate of eligibility it will state that you do not have to complete the MCT. You must provide us with a copy of your certificate of eligibility when you book the OSCE and/or TLST.
If you applied for and were granted a QLTS certificate of eligibility before the regulations were amended, you should contact the SRA at qlts@sra.org.uk quoting your SRA number. They will issue you with a certifying letter and you must provide us with a copy of that letter when you book the OSCE and/or the TLST.
